This is a sales sheet I did for The Nation for their New York City issue. This would to potential advertisers. I wanted to go for a infographic type feel, but at the same time be clear and direct for client.

After seeing the poster for last year's Grizzly Bear concert at Governor's Island, I wasn't too pleased and decided something needed to be done. So, I decided to do one myself. In the style of the new school illustrated concert posters, I went with what else, but a big ol' cuddly blue bear. Using crisp vectors and clean type, I arrived at something simple in style and nature. I hope to be doing more of these in the future.

This is a spread from the design I did for Mediaplanet. This was from the Intellectual Property (IP) issue that was featured in the National Post and other morning publications. I felt that the color red accentuates importance of IP. The late Steve Jobs was the cover story, and the cover features a younger photo of him with a light red background which compliments the dark red in a vintage sort of way.

Harvest Song (Craft and Artisanal Preserves) and Armenia Fund USA partnered recently to do a great thing. For every purchase of a custom gift basket five dollars will be donated to Armenia Fund USA. I designed both the postcard and banner that is on the Harvest Song site.

DorAid America is a non-profit, charitable, and out-reach organization. It is the American branch of Dorcas Aid International, headquartered in the Netherlands. This is a brochure for DorAid America's upcoming Spring fundraising campaign. This is another straight forward tri-fold brochure. Following Dorcas Aid's corporate branding and identity, I came up with something that is a little bolder and sleeker.

I collaborated with Print Solutions on this brochure for North Hudson I.V.F. This is the inside cover for the brochure. We wanted a suggestive feel throughout. The imagery we chose really brought out that quality.

This is a feature story from their Health Issue. I tried to come up with something interesting and visually appealing. I think it worked well, especially for a magazine like HX. For legal purposes, there actually was a need for a litte Photoshop work to be done. Though, I'm sure their readership wouldn't have minded otherwise.

This is a catalog I designed recenty for 90Grand. 90Grand has one of the largest collections of licensed images from legendary photographers, Brian Aris, John Stoddart, Frank Worth, and others. This catalog features all the images and prints they have to offer.

Provence Paradise was a collaborative effort with designer/video producer, Carlos Moore. The goal was to design a site sans the Flash elements the prior site had. All the while coming up with something that is contemporary and user/mobile-friendly. All elements of the site were done in HTML/CSS. I handled the website design while Carlos handled the bulk of the graphic design and UX. The end result is a modern, clean, and elegant site that incorporates usability and functionality while retaining a strong identity.

Between 2008 and 2012, I had the pleasure of serving as Design Director for NYU Center For Global Affairs' Academic Journal, Perspectives on Global Issues. As Design Director, I lead in the direction of the journal's creative, designed covers for issues, and assisted in the design of the web site.

This is the design I did for The Nation's annual fundraising campaign, Nation Builders. I adhered to the WPA Poster concept/idea that they use every year. The design consisted of a taker over design for the site which included a lightbox that appeared upon visit of the site. I also provided a complementing print ad component.

If you've ever stayed in a hotel on the East Coast, then you've probably partaken in a beverage from the minibar. More than likely, it was a Bar-Maid. Not too long ago, Mr. George Steele of Bar-Maid Corp. reached out to me to help with their Hotel Exclusive email marketing campaign. It was directed at their major hotel contacts.

This is a website I originally worked on a while back for Paramus, NJ based Armenian charitable/non-profit org., AMAA. The design has gone through changes over the years which held up. Recently, I was asked to totally redesign the whole thing. I went with Wordpress for its ease and convenience.

L.A. private school, C&E Merdinian School recently asked me to design for them a brand new website. The site they had been using was a little dated and not as user friendly as they wanted. And as most clients they wanted a site that was clean, easy to navigate, and modern.

Here's a logo I designed for Universal Music Group production/song writing duo, Foreign Policy. They're responsible for such hits as Cobra Starship's Good Girls Go Bad, Christina Aguilera's Make The World Move, Cheryl Cole's Under The Sun, and Skyar Grey's C'mon Let Me Ride. For this I wanted something sci-fi and alien. What's more foreign than outer space? They loved it and I hope to be doing more work for them.

This is a logo I did recenty for Luana Nelson-Brown. Luana is a writer, organizer, activisst, and Executive Director of the Iowa Coalition for Collective Change. She was the long time host of her own talk show, Brown on Black, a show dealing with the issues and challanged facing African Americans today. I designed something that was both striking and simultaneously invitng.

This was a personal project I undertook recently. Being a fan and user of high end men's grooming products, I noticed two things with the branding. They either had great logos and packaging, or not so great ones. Crown Shaving Co. is one company that needs in image overhaul. The effort had to tie into a larger brand evolution that could potentially take place. I think I arrived at something that is both classic and contemporary at the same time.

Something I came up again for Brooklyn based band, The Midnight Hollow. It's, at the same time a concert announcement. I wanted to give it a specific look and feel. Clean and retro at the same time.
What I Did: Identity (Illustrator, Photoshop)
This is the logo for Clever Fox Brewers, a Los Angeles based brewing company. After discussions, we decided to go with something that was reminiscent of a children's story character. I came up with something just that, a logo that's still classic just as much fun.

King Post is a New York City based gaming company. The company is partly inspired by the classic novel, Moby Dick. They wanted their logo to reflect that. I decided to incorporate a whaling harpoon and have it mirror the right side of the king post. In the end they went with another design but kept the typography of my design.

At my time at Ruehl No.925, I had the pleasure of designing rooms and setting up/implementing some great display pieces. Unveiled in Autumn of 2004, Ruehl was the fourth concept rolled out by A&F, after the namesake brand, targeting the post-collegiate demographic. It was inspired by the artistic and cultural heritage of Greenwich Village. The store itself was modeled after a Greenwich Village townhouse complete with wrought-iron fence and potted topiary. Navigating through its great maze of darkened, slickly designed multi-level rooms (including a library, lounge, study, bedrooms, living room & garage) one was treated to large framed B&W photography, bold graphics, Jackson Pollack & Willem de Kooning paintings, and various vintage artifacts.
Next Big Sound is a New York-based company which provides analytics for online music. I came up with a PowerPoint for their Digital Music Report with a simple relaxing color palette, eye-catching photos, and legible fonts for easier comprehension. This resulted in a series of slides broken up in a digestible manner, melding lifestyle imagery with flat icons to best explain their insights into the changing landscape of the music industry globally and the developments in the digital sector.

This is a presentation I recently designed for The Centennial Campaign. It is a fundraising effort for AMAA's humanitarian and educational endeavors in Eurasia in honor of their 100th anniversary of their establishment. I followed the color scheme of their printed material that would be given to potential donors and patrons along side this presentation.

When a supergroup of some of the best jazz musicians on earth ask you to design their album cover, you say yes. I had the pleasure of collaborating with artist, Valentin Tuncboyaciyan on the design. She drew the funky cool face on the cover. I wanted the feel to be part art rock, part ECM. They were all super pleased with the result.

This is a Snapchat piece I recently designed for Harper's Bazaar. Bazaar is of course a world-reknown women's fashion and lifestyle magazine with a very iconic and specific look and feel. I basically brought that to the design of this little Snapchat story.

During my time at NYU, some of my classmates and I had the pleasure of competing in the annual MBUSA C-Class Ad Pitch Contest. We really wanted to come up with a solid tag line and an equally solid commercia. The tag line we came up with was, "Discover the class you've always had." I was given the task of coming up with the commercia and this is the storyboard for it. While we were runner ups, we were told by numerous people on the judging panel from MBUSA that we had the best tag line.

I had the oppportunity to again work with world jazz pianist, Zela Margossian on her sophomore album, The Road. She wanted to go for a more abstract look and feel for this album as opposed to the more photographic design of her previous one. I incorporated her paintings into the design and layout resulting in intense and bright visuals which perfectly compliment her music.

This is another video I recently produced and editing for alternative/post-punk/electronic artist, Villain + Zavier for their new single, "You+I". Partly inspired by 80's retrofuturisim, urban landscapes, and The Revivalists use of static images in their lyric video for "All My Friends", I came up with something that matches the vibrancy and urgency of this great song.

A few years back I designed this Instagram/Social Media image for darkwave/electro-rock duo, Crosses (Chino Moreno of Deftones + Shaun Lopez of Far) when they were announcing their NYC area dates. They would tease a city they were about to play with an image that resembled the cover for their debut album with a silhouette of a landmark of where they would perform along with their trademark "†††". Since they were going to play Music Hall of Williamsburg, I used the Williamsburg Bridge.
